Roy Allen Blackwell JR passed away peacefully at his home on Lake Limestone in Texas on January 19, 2021, at the age of 81. He was born on April 13, 1939 in Gladewater, Texas to Mabel Allen and Roy Austin Blackwell. Roy is predeceased by his: Father and Mother - Mabel and Roy Blackwell SR, Brother - Jesse Blackwell and Son - Keith Blackwell. Roy graduated from Union Grove High School in 1958. He relocated to Houston, Texas after graduation. Houston is where he found Cathleen. Roy married his beloved wife, Cathleen Marie Stelly, on September 1, 1961 in Highlands, Texas. The couple settled in Crosby, Texas and began their family with four beautiful children: Brent Allen Blackwell, Angela Kay Blackwell-Jolin, Keith Roy Blackwell and Kelly Marie Blackwell-Martin. Roy was later blessed with six grandchildren: Amanda Jane Blackwell, Chelsey Nicole Blackwell, Alec David Jolin, Casey Eileen Nikolich, Nolan Allen Blackwell and Clay Austin Blackwell. R.A. Blackwell Incorporated was a very successful family-owned business that was owned and operated by Roy and his wife in Houston. The couple started the company from the ground up and created a business venture that left a lasting impact on his children and grandchildren. Roy and Cathleen continued their endeavors by becoming vital members in the development of the East Lake Limestone Fire Department in Jewett, Texas. Their names are both displayed proudly on the building as a tribute to their generous work and devoted leadership. Roy taught the value of hard work, unconditional love of family, giving back to the community and the necessity of maintaining your integrity and faith in God throughout life. He was the definition of a role model, a teacher, a leader, a husband and a father.
